Step 1 Prerequisites
Before the main quest steps, you must: turn on all 6 Generators, obtain and upgrade all 4 Staffs, obtain the Thunder Fists (One Inch Punch), obtain the G-Strikes, and build the Maxis Drone.
Setup
Opening the Excavation Site
Find the Gramophone inside the Excavation Site, on the ground next to a table.
Find the Black Disc — one of three locations:
- Next to a Generator near the Excavation entrance sign
- Outside the entrance to Church on a wall of the Excavation Site
- In a wheelbarrow at the top of the Excavation Site near Pack-A-Punch
Place the Gramophone on the table it was next to — this opens the underground section of the Excavation Site.
Build & Upgrade
The 4 Staffs
Top: Reward chest at Gen 6 after completing Gen 6.
Middle: Shoot down a red plane flying above No Man's Land. The part lands near the Soul Box next to the Excavation Site.
Bottom: Dropped by a Panzer Soldat.
Disc — one of three locations in the Church:
- In between the bottom stairs and the tank
- On the pews upstairs
- On some boxes next to Gen 6
Go to the Fire Tunnel between Spawn and Gen 3. Place the Gramophone and enter the Portal into the Crazy Place. Grab the Fire Shard from the pedestal.
Go to the bottom of the Excavation Site and build the Fire Staff.
Upgrade — Crazy Place: Kill 30 zombies on the grates in the Fire area. When done you'll hear an audio cue, your screen will shake, and the 4 pillars will be on fire.
Upgrade — Church Symbols: Upstairs in the Church are 4 symbols — use a reference image to decode them. There will always be a number 4 among them. Downstairs are sets of torches with numbers — shoot the torches that correspond with your symbols rapidly using the Fire Staff. The torch for 4 has a blood stain instead of a number.
Upgrade — Orb: At the bottom of the Excavation Site, turn all 4 switches so the ring in the middle is entirely red. Shoot the red orb with the Fire Staff to send it into the sky.
Upgrade — Crazy Place: Place the Fire Staff in the pedestal where you got the crystal. Get 20 kills with souls going into the staff. Pick up the upgraded Fire Staff from the pedestal.
Top: Dig at the Church while it is snowing.
Middle: Dig at No Man's Land while it is snowing.
Bottom: Dig at the Spawn side while it is snowing.
Disc — one of three locations at the Tank Station:
- On a shelf near the front entrance
- Next to the Mystery Box on a shelf
- On a shelf near the back exit
Go to the Ice Tunnel behind the Church. Place the Gramophone and enter the Portal into the Crazy Place. Grab the Ice Shard from the pedestal.
Go to the bottom of the Excavation Site and build the Ice Staff.
Upgrade — Crazy Place Symbols: In the Crazy Place, there are symbols on the top of the Ice area and a single symbol on the right. Use a reference image to find which ceiling symbol matches the one on the right, then shoot it with the Ice Staff to flip it. Once shot, the symbol on the right changes — keep doing this until all symbols are flipped and you hear the audio cue.
Upgrade — Graves: Freeze then shoot 3 graves around the map with a bullet weapon (Ray Gun, Ray Gun Mark II, and Boomhilda do not work):
- Directly behind Juggernog at Gen 4, above the Robot foot path
- Above the footprint near the Excavation Site, close to Gen 4
- Behind the Tank Station, up on the tank path
Upgrade — Orb: At the bottom of the Excavation Site, turn all 4 switches so the ring is entirely blue. Shoot the blue orb with the Ice Staff to send it into the sky.
Upgrade — Crazy Place: Place the Ice Staff in the pedestal. Get 20 kills with souls going into the staff. Pick up the upgraded Ice Staff.
Top: Ride the tank from the Church toward Tank Station — jump right onto a wooden platform a little past Gen 4.
Middle: Ride the tank from Tank Station toward the Church — jump left onto a wooden platform connected to the Excavation Site.
Bottom: Ride the tank from Tank Station toward the Church — jump right onto the mud path connected to the Church.
Disc — one of three locations near Gen 4:
- Near the Wunderfizz
- On a wooden cart
- Bottom of the Wind Tunnel
Go to the Lightning Tunnel next to Gen 5. Place the Gramophone and enter the Portal into the Crazy Place. Grab the Lightning Shard from the pedestal.
Go to the bottom of the Excavation Site and build the Lightning Staff.
Upgrade — Purple Triangles: In the Crazy Place, shoot the bottom row of purple triangles in the Lightning area with the Lightning Staff in this order (left to right):
- 1, 3, 6
- 3, 5, 7
- 2, 4, 6
Upgrade — Electricity Panels: Turn the dials on 7 electricity panels around the map so they don't spark:
- Spawn — Left
- Tank Station near Back Exit — Down
- Gen 4 Footprint Path near Wind Staff — Up
- Gen 5 — Down
- Excavation Site near Church — Up
- Downstairs Church — Right
- Upstairs Church — Up
Upgrade — Orb: At the bottom of the Excavation Site, turn all 4 switches so the ring is entirely purple. Shoot the purple orb with the Lightning Staff to send it into the sky.
Upgrade — Crazy Place: Place the Lightning Staff in the pedestal. Get 20 kills with souls going into the staff. Pick up the upgraded Lightning Staff.
Note
The Wind Staff upgrade is completed as part of Step 9 (placing staffs in the Crazy Place).
Top: Shoot the foot and get inside the Odin Robot (No Man's Land Robot).
Middle: Shoot the foot and get inside the Thor Robot (Gen 2/3 Robot).
Bottom: Shoot the foot and get inside the Freya Robot (Church Robot).
Disc — one of three locations near Gen 5:
- In front of the entrance to the Lightning Staff tunnel, on some boxes
- In the top Lightning Staff tunnel on a table
- Near Stamin-Up
Go to the Wind Tunnel next to Gen 4. Place the Gramophone and enter the Portal into the Crazy Place. Grab the Wind Shard from the pedestal.
Go to the bottom of the Excavation Site and build the Wind Staff.
Obtain
One Inch Punch (Thunder Fists)
Fill 4 Soul Boxes located in Robot foot paths by getting 20 kills in each. Beware — if a robot steps on one, it closes and resets the kill count:
- Excavation
- Gen 4
- Gen 5
- Church
Once all 4 are filled, pick up the One Inch Punch from the bottom reward in one of the Reward Chests in Spawn or Gen 6.
Obtain
G-Strikes
Grab a stone on a table near the back exit of the Tank Station.
Place the stone in the fountain upstairs in the Church near the Mystery Box.
Kill 20 zombies near it with melee attacks to charge it with souls.
Pick up the stone and carry it back to the table in the Tank Station — don't touch mud.
Get 20 more melee kills near it. Once done, pick up the G-Strikes from the table.
Tip
If you touch mud while carrying the stone, return it to the Church fountain to cleanse it, then retry.
Build
Maxis Drone
Collect all Maxis Drone parts:
- Brain: In spawn on a table
- Rotors: Excavation Site near Mule Kick / On scaffolding near oxygen tanks / Near the wallbuy
- Body: Church — on the tank path going from Church to Gen 4 / On the tank path going from Church to Gen 5 / In the Ice Staff Tunnel
Build the Maxis Drone at the build table.
Step 2
Place Upgraded Staffs in Pedestals
Place each upgraded staff in its corresponding robot pedestal:
- Fire Staff — Excavation Site
- Lightning Staff — Thor Robot (Gen 2/3)
- Wind Staff — Odin Robot (No Man's Land)
- Ice Staff — Freya Robot (Church)
Step 3
G-Strike the Rubble
Co-op: One player goes into any robot and presses the button. Immediately, another player throws a G-Strike at the rubble outside the map to the right of Generator 5.
Solo: Enter the Odin Robot (No Man's Land) through his first left foot entrance. Press the button as you are about to be ejected, then immediately run to the spot to the right of Generator 5 and throw a G-Strike at the rubble outside the map.
Step 4-5
Maxis Drone & the Glowing Plane
Release the Maxis Drone next to the rubble — it will fly into it and spawn 10 Panzer Soldats that you must kill.
Obtain a Zombie Blood (natural drop, or free from freezing the 3 chariots in the Excavation Site). Look above the Excavation Site and shoot down the glowing plane.
A zombie will fall out and run clockwise around the Excavation Site. You can only see it while in Zombie Blood — but you can run into it without Zombie Blood to track it. Kill it to drop the Maxis Drone, then pick it up.
Step 6
Upgrade the Thunder Fists
Every player must have the One Inch Punch and go to the bottom of the Excavation Site.
Every player melee kills 20 Templar Zombies with glowing white hands. Each player receives a tablet — pick it up to upgrade the Thunder Fists.
Final Steps
Crazy Place & Finale
Go to the Crazy Place and place all 4 staffs in their holsters. Get a total of 100 kills.
When the sky in the Crazy Place is open, release the Maxis Drone — it will fly up and create a beam. Interact with the beam to complete the Easter Egg.
